I'm on the blogger list for Cynful, so I get some of their new releases. I will admit several things here:
  1. I am fashionably late posting to my blog.
  2. Not all of Cynful's clothing suits my taste.
  3. Sometimes I feel bad for staying on the list.
  4. I do stay on because some of the things that come through I absolutely love!
So, here are three of somewhat recent releases:

First is the Denim Corset Overall Capri set (a very new release), which I just fell in love with! The dark blue capris shown here have adorable button pockets on the hip and rear and optional prim cuffs. The buttons continue up the corset, and the lace at the top comes in either black, white, or if you're really daring, none at all ;)

This set comes in dark blue, light blue, black, rustie and gray.

Cynful Denim CorsetOverall Capri

Next is Gracieness, in coral, which has been out for a couple of weeks. Cynful's minis are a bit...oh...daring, for a fairly conservative girl like me, and I don't dare bend over! But they're really cute and this one caused quite a stir on my flickr when I posted it! What I do love a lot about Cynful's clothes is that the shadowing is right on and the prim pieces actually fit well!

Cynful Gracieness Dress - Coral

Below is Cynful's "Summery Dress", another that has been out for 2-3 weeks (I know, bad blogger *hangs head*). It's a cute mini with a lace edge at the bottom. Sexy and sassy, this is a mini you'll want in your wardrobe for sure!

That's it for now! Till next time!

As everyone knows, I have a career in Second Life that I take very seriously - and usually too seriously, and friends have lately been concerned about that. The whole "all work and no play" thing, you know.

Because of that, I was recently introduced to the world of Mer, and immediately fell in love. The funny thing is - in RL, I don't have much to do with the ocean. I'm not a secure swimmer, I've never scubaed, and the life under the ocean scares me - lots of things that can jump out and hurt you. Maybe because of that, I love life under the water inworld. I've found some sims that were beautifully created for merlife, and I love being there. I find it totally relaxing and calming, and love exploring them.

I haven't interacted with too terribly many Mer-people yet, but the ones that I have met have been friendly, open, and generous. Because one should obviously look the part when visiting a new world, I had to go....SHOPPING! Yay!

One of the incredibly generous people I met was Indigo Jashan, owner of Deep Seas Mer Outfitters. Indigo creates the really wonderful tails shown in the pictures below. Each tail comes with a basic mermaid AO to help get you started. Most of the tails range from 300L-500L.

Deep Seas is housed at the Haven of Rogues sim, which is one of the connected sims where I've been playing. There's a wonderful tower there with all kinds of Mer items, so if you have any interest in this life, you'll find lots of items there to help you out.

The first picture below is the Wobbegong Shark.

The next tail is the Rose Mer Tail. While the picture isn't close enough to show it, the texture on this tail is amazing...very iridescent and beautiful.

This is the Metal Pewter tail.

And my favorite tail - the Spirit.

I hope you'll consider running by Deep Seas to check it out...and perhaps I'll see you in the water soon! ;)

Yes, summer is here and along with it, I have new dresses to show you from AlaFolie.

The first one is AlaFolie's "Laura". As with many of AlaFolie's outfits, Laura comes with headband, brooch, necklace, earrings, bracelet, and matching pumps. There are two lengths of the dress included - the short babydoll is shown here. Laura is charming and sweetly innocent (darling tied bow at the back, not shown), but with its deeply plunging neckline, also very sexy...just perfect for summer!

Next is AlaFolie's Eloyse. This is another adorable babydoll dress which comes with the necklace and earrings shown.

It has a black velvet bodice and comes with three lace skirt options (although I honestly can't tell the difference between 1 and 3). Number 1 is a white belt with white rose and number 2 has just a black rose. Shown here is number 2. No shoes are included with this dress.

So there you have a couple of really nice dresses for those "slightly more than casual" summer events from AlaFolie.

Till next time,

Honey

Azul-Velma (Moca), originally uploaded by HoneyBear Lilliehook.

A couple of years ago, I was at Styles of Edo looking at gowns, and immediately fell in love with Mami Jewell's designs. This was a designer that spoke to my fashionista heart, and the love affair hasn't ended yet!

Velma is one of Mami's newest creations and I was delighted when she gave it to me to blog.

Velma is form-fitting with a slightly flaired skirt made of satin material with a ruffle at the bottom of the skirt. The draped bodice and bare leg make this dress an immediate standout. Add to that lots of delicate straps and you are guaranteed the attentions of any male in the room!

I tried to come up with all these descriptions for Velma, but truly, this wonderful gown speaks for itself.

Velma sells for $L750 and is available at the Azul showroom now.

Till next time,

Honey

I don't cover skins here too terribly often because I'm one of those that likes to know when people look at me, they know "that's HoneyBear", so I don't change skins like some others. Nothing wrong with changing, it's just not me.

So, when I got the preview package of the new skin by Tuli Asturias called "Jade", I figured I'd blog it and be done with it....but not this time!

First off, I've always liked Tuli's eyes, and would wear them full time if she ever hits that particular shade of teal that I love so much. The ones in this picture are her "Cloud" eyes...a really pretty shade of gray.

But the star of the show today is Jade....she is simply stunning. Areas I'm really fussy about are great: that area just above the lip and under the nose is nicely shaded, the lips are beautifully shaped, the skin on the chest and arms is smooth and not overly shiny. The makeups are very nicely done and placed well.

I looked the body over carefully for signs of seams and they're there as you're rezzing like any skin, but they quickly blended in, and I couldn't see any signs of them after a moment. Breasts and genitalia are nicely done, and in fact, the skins are made in three breast "sizes".

I have to be honest....for me, there were two very small concerns. First, the eyebrows seem kinda flat. Nothing I can't live with though. The other area of concern is kind of a double-edged sword. As a photographer, I have to spend a lot of time smoothing out skins for a final product, and at first glance, I noticed this skin was soooo smooth that you don't have to do it. The photo above is untouched, other than a tiny bit right around the nose. So for photography purposes, this skin is ideal. But for day to day wear, it's almost too ideal...kind of like, nobody's skin is that perfect, and it struck me as very gently fuzzy.

I'd definitely recommend running by Tuli's tomorrow (Friday) when it's released and demoing this skin for yourself. What may be a concern to me, may be heaven to you, and honestly, even with those two tiny things, I have to say that I love this skin! It's found its way into my favorite skins folder for those times when I do need a skin change.

Look, I promise that I did not say specifically to Geryn Sloane "make dresses to make me happy", but she's done it again!

The incredible Heart of the Ocean, shown here in Seashell, is absolutely the kind of dress that makes my heart pound, and I will admit that I even got a little teary-eyed when I saw this one!

As I've mentioned before on this blog, Geryn has this amazing talent for making skirts that move just like you'd want and expect them to. When I'm walking or dancing, I don't want to see tubes flowing behind me. I want to see a skirt falling softly down my legs and caressing my ankles - and Geryn's do!

Geryn's skirt panels aren't the blunt edge panels you see on so many gowns. She painstakingly creates textures which give the edges a soft, natural scallop look to them.

As always, the beauty is in the details, and even the back of this gown is exquisitely detailed. The 500L price tag is extremely affordable for a great quality gown like this one!

Geryn has been superbusy creating, and released several outfits in addition to this, so run by and see what she's been up to!

Honey
If you have been following me for any length of time, I think you know by now that I'm somewhat conservative in my dress. Give me a nice gown and I'm happy. But every once in awhile, I'll see something avantgarde and I've just got to have it. Such was the case with Style Disaster.

Style Disaster is by designer Tatanka Kaligawa, owner of Mea Culpa Design. These designs are not for the faint of heart, nor for the faint of wallet. You'll want to seriously love the design you buy - the prices are steep.

The reason this outfit hit my heart was because of the details. Rather than try to explain them, I'll have to show you.

The gemstone buttons are very realistic.

The ruffles on the side fall perfectly.

Each of the spikes on this outfit (and there are several) has a silver ring with a shine I've never seen before in SL.
I cannot even begin to imagine the hours upon hours that went into creating this outfit! The textures are simply beyond amazing.

I'm not going to try to sell you on this (or any) outfit by Mea Culpa because I believe this type of fashion either strikes your soul, or it doesn't.

I do recommend visiting the Mea Culpa blog, website or showroom soon to see if you're as moved as I was by these designs.

Sasha Frangilli has long been known for her elegant gowns and cute casual dresses, but she's recently started branching out and this is her newest release. I'm really excited to tell you about this one!

Called Romana, this pants and jacket set is as versatile as one of Sascha's gowns. It comes with three pairs of pants, all modifiable so that you can change the length to suit you. I liked the capri length and left them this way for these photos.

The outfit includes four different tops, two with collars.

The crowning piece to the outfit is the 5 piece jacket, which is exquisitely detailed! The buttons and belt (not removable) are prim, and it has incredible lace cuffs on the sleeves. While not specifically advertised, you can remove the jacket bottom piece and it becomes a cute bolero!

As it typical of Sascha, she's priced this outfit insanely low. When you consider all of the various ways you can wear this outfit, I'd expect at least a $L500-750 price tag, but noooo, not when it comes from Sascha. She's priced this entire outfit at only $L399!

I have to tell you, I change clothes several times a day between modeling, the blog, and just various events and places I go....but I kept this one on all day! It worked for everything I had to do!

This post is going to feature two designers, simply because I am so far behind and busy. I apologize in advance for their shortness!

First up is Flirt by Sasha's Designs. Available in turquoise, purple, red and yellow, this little charmer is only $L249! It comes with four different skirt options - A-symmetrical, Mini, Babydoll, and Cocktail, and two different top options - strapless, as shown, or a cross-strap. With all these options, the wearing possibilities are endless!

Flirt is bright and sexy....just perfect for summer!

The next dress up is from Ginevra Lancaster. "Eva" is available in red, black, blue, gold, purple, green, and sells for $L760. It features that bare leg cut that I love so much and tons of pearls adorn it.

All of those pearls you see...she recognizes that we're all built differently, so she includes four different sets of each section, and if you still can't get it to fit, you can drop her a notecard with your precise measurements and she'll make sure it fits! How's that for customer service?

It features a delicate hair accessory that I liked. The pearl choker is also included, along with a pair of matching pumps. All in all, quite the deal for the price!

That's it for today!

AlaFolie Dentelles et Taffetas - Red, originally uploaded by HoneyBear Lilliehook.

I love Pixivor's styles because they're sooooo feminine and soft, and Dentelles et Taffetas (translated: lace and taffeta) is no different.

This lacy little black dress is, first of all, downright sexy. While you can't see it from a distance, when you get close (read that, VERY close), you'll see that it is fairly sheer. For the extremely shy, you may want to consider a modesty bra or pasties, but I have no issues wearing it as is, because you just don't see anything beyond 3m away. If anyone is closer than that...they would have to really be looking to see anything, and it's just a small tease ;)

Dentelles is somewhere between casual and dressy and is perfect for a dinner out, gallery opening, or dancing.

The dress comes with matching shoes, a black pearl necklace (although no earrings), and the wide belt, which can either have the flower sash, or be worn plain. There is also an option to wear the belt narrow, without the flower.

As an extra, in each package, there is a "bonus" outfit, which is the dress, the wide belt with a tied bow, and a headband.

For the price of $L700, the versatile Dentelles et Taffetas is black, but the accessories are available in green, blue, red, yellow, pale green, and pink.

The direct link to this dress is here.

Have you tried it? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you like parts of it?

Please go here, log in, and vote for your feelings about it. I don't care how you vote, just please vote! The Lindens put this poll up, so NOW is the time to let them know how you feel.

Personally, I've tried, and hate it. Yes, the additional layers are nice, and some people love web on a prim (I have security concerns about that, but whatever)....but overall, I can't stand it. Inventory never stays loaded - it'll load, I log off, two minutes later log in, and have to load inventory all over again! Takes me 20-30 minutes to fully rez. All of those non-transparent windows chew up a ton of real estate. And just try inviting someone to a group, or opening more than one profile at once.

This viewer, in my opinion, isn't ready to be a mandated viewer, and it's coming. PLEASE go vote!

A few months ago, I was at Geryn Sloane Couture, and found this gorgeous dress called Cloud Nine. It was a spectacular gold dress and I fell in love with it immediately!

Skip forward to this week, when I received a notice that Cloud Nine had been released in additional colors...yay!

Let me tell you why I love this dress so much.

The textures. Geryn, quite simply, reached perfection on the textures. Incredibly sheer and light, with exquisite detailing. Geryn recognized that not everyone in SL wants their breasts showing, so she drew in a delicate and well placed modesty bra. The detailing includes twinkling stars on the skirt panels. The skirt was made with a tiny little bit of glow and full bright, which may annoy some, but makes it seem more magical to me. If it really bothered you, Geryn left the skirt panels mod, so you can turn this off if you wish, but that small amount of glow really does make the dress glitter.

The movement. Yes, I talk about movement a lot on this blog. I love a gown with realistic movement, and this one has it. The skirt panels move naturally, even when you're walking. They don't billow out behind you in a straight line, rather, they swirl softly around your ankles. It looks lovely while you're dancing with your sweety!

Sex appeal. Let's face it, we all want to look sexy without looking trashy. Cloud Nine shows enough to be extremely sexy, without showing it all.

Lastly, the price. This beautiful gown is a steal at only 500L! The new colors are Heaven (shown above), Emerald Sunset, Purple Mist, Pink Dawn, Sandstorm, Sunshine, Crimson Morning, and Storm Front....and I just saw today another one called "Over the Rainbow" which is, as you might guess, pastel rainbow colors and quite lovely.

Stop by and pick up your Cloud Nine today!

Honey
I think you may by now, have picked up on the fact that I like gowns. I'm a girly-girl and wear dresses much of the time. Of course, I have favorites, and one of them is aLaFolie.

The dress below is called Passion Ornoir. The picture below doesn't even come close to showing you how beautifully this dress moves. It is one of those gowns that is incredible to wear, because it actually swirls sexily around your ankles, instead of flowing out behind you. The chiffon textures are exquisitely detailed with twinkling lights...definitely my kind of dress! Priced at a very reasonable $L700, this dress needs to be in your wardrobe.

Below is aLaFolie's Sevilla. This dress comes with two skirts-the one shown, or a mini skirt. In either case, the attention to detail is apparent from the beautifully placed straps, perfectly drawn bustier, and exquisite texturing on the skirts. This dress will make you feel ultra-feminine as you go out for a night of dancing with that special person in your life! Sevilla sells for $L690.

There are lots of other wonderful dresses at aLaFolie, so stop by today! You'll be very glad you did ;)

aLaFolie
I love jewelry....I'm the first to admit it. You will not ever catch me without it, unless it's impossible because of the attachment points of the outfits themselves...and I try to avoid outfits like that! So, I'm always thrilled when there's new jewelry around and I run to look at it.

The set below Nightlife, is a new one by alaMood, made especially for the Accessory Fair 2010 by Jori Watler.

I totally love the simplicity of this set, which suits my personality quite well. The lines are clean, not fussy, and yet is clearly a classy, elegant piece. It rapidly became one of my favorites. Nightlife, a set of earrings, necklace and ring is available in Diamond, Emerald, Onyx, Ruby and Sapphire, and with either Gold or Silver metals. It is more than reasonably priced at 400L.

alaMood Main Store

Next, we have two new offerings by Alienbear Designs. What I really like about both of these pieces is they can be worn different ways, allowing you some flexibility with your necklines.

The first, River of Love, comes in 9 different colors. The necklace (400L) is sold separately from the earrings, which are available in two different styles. Style 1 sells for 200L, while Style 2 sells for 100L. Shown below is Style 2, which is a shorter dangle than Style 1. The earrings are sold in the same colors as the necklace.

As you can see, by wearing both pieces, you get a longer necklace suitable for those plunging necklines, while wearing one piece alone makes it best for shallower necklines. Truly a beautiful set.

Below is Almas. Almas is available in yellow and white gold and 8 different colors, with three different styles of earrings. Shown is #3. The Almas necklace is 300L. The earrings shown are 60L, Set 2 is a hoop style and sells for 80L, while Set 1 is a longer curved set for 80L.

I have to be honest, I preferred the Almas set. It has beautifully clean lines and can be worn with or without the choker, as shown. The gold set is a beautiful tone that looks great worn. I'm pretty fussy with golds and won't wear any that look less than perfect - and this one is perfect.

Alienbear has long been a standard for jewelry in Second Life, and she has certainly created two pieces here that are bound to be favorites for a long time to come.

Alienbear

Till next time....
